Governor Greg Abbott today held a briefing at the Alternate State Operations Center in Austin where he provided an update on the state’s response to Tropical Storm Nicholas. This storm is expected to bring significant rainfall and flooding to the entire Gulf Coast as it moves slowly across the state.

Michigan DNR postpones full reopening of offices, service centers

More than a dozen field offices and customer service centers were expected to resume pre-pandemic hours of operation after Labor Day, but that hasn’t happened.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources postponed full reopening at 16 facilities until at least Oct. 4. Until then, they will continue with a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule that began in July after more than a year of being closed to the public.

The offices and service centers sell hunting and fishing licenses, and fuelwood permits, and staff answer questions about hunting and fishing regulations, trails and other outdoor recreation topics.
